McGrath Earns Silver

Jon Michael McGrath, Eagle Scout of Tulsa won the silver medal in the Men’s Open Division at the USA Shooting National Championship for International Skeet in Colorado Springs, CO.

Vincent Hancock, the 2008 Olympic gold medalist, took home the gold with a score of 249 out of 250, followed by the 18-year-old McGrath who hit 246 targets out of 250, and T.J. Bayer earned the bronze medal with 244 targets.

McGrath also took home the gold medal for Junior Men’s Skeet and broke two USA Shooting National records in the Junior Men’s category, the same two records he previously set last year and the year before for high junior score and high junior score with a match final.

McGrath is the newest resident athlete at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. He will represent the United States at the World Championship in Munich, Germany. You can also read about McGrath in the July 2010 issue of Field & Stream magazine.
