Scouting Awareness Day and Report to the State


Scouting Displays on the Second Floor of the Rotunda
8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

All Scouting units are welcome to display an activity of their choosing to be set up in the 2nd floor rotunda area. Units MUST call to reserve a display table. Reservations must be made by January 25th.

Press Conference
1:30 p.m.

A press conference will be held in a nearby conference room covering Scouting’s impact on the youth of Oklahoma and achievements in the last year.

Citation Reading on the Floor of the House
2:00 p.m.

Citation from the Governor of Oklahoma during the Legislative Session in the Oklahoma House of Representatives, presented by Representatives Scott Martin and Lewis Moore. Scouts may be seated in the Gallery of the House for this event.

Complete Scout uniform is required for all Scouts participating in this event. Please contact Phillip Mitchell at 405-923-8161 or phillip.mitchell@scouting.org to reserve a table for your unit’s activity display or for any questions regarding Scouting Day at the Capitol. Scouts and leaders my purchase meals at snack bars located on the 1st floor and in the basement, or bring their own snacks/lunch.
