Floral Haven Patch Design Contest

The Memorial Day Flag Ceremony will be held at Floral Haven Memorial Garden on May 30, 2011. We are looking for designs for the Avenue of Flags participation patch. The creator of the winning design will be given a $200 camper scholarship for use at any Indian Nations Council summer program (Cub Scout Day Camp, Cub Scout or Webelos Resident Camp or Hale Scout Reservation Summer Camp.) Guidelines:

  • The theme of the patch should revolve around Scouting and patriotism
  • Designed for a patch size of 3.5” x 3.5”
  • It must include the American Flag, the BSA fleur-de-leis, the Floral Haven logo (red/green flower), and the Indian Nation Council’s 100th Anniversary logo. Logos are available HERE.
  • Lettering on the patch must be straight line (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal)
  • The phrase “Floral Haven Avenue of Flags 2011” must be included
  • All designs need to be original and not use art from other sources
  • The design must lend itself to being embroidered on a patch
  • You must be a registered youth member of a scouting unit in the Indian Nations Council
  • Entries must include your name (first and last), unit number, and contact information
  • The winning design will be selected by Scouting volunteers and Floral Haven staff

Entries are due to the Scout office no later than April 7, 2011. The winning Scout will receive special recognition at Floral Haven during the Memorial Day afternoon ceremonies.
