Hello Scouters,

My name is Ryan Haase and I am an Eagle Scout from Troop 238 in Claremore Oklahoma. Currently I am a Assistant Senior Scoutmaster with Troop 828 in Stillwater. Attending Oklahoma State University I will be graduating this Summer with a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology.

This May I was awarded the Gilman Scholarship which will allow for me to study abroad in Valparaiso, Chile. The trip and scholarship was heavily influenced with my involvement and scouting. Therefore I have decided to perform my Follow-on service project for the Gilman with scouts in the both Stillwater and the Indian Nations Council.

My follow-up project has two major components involving a varying degree of participation with a local scout troops. The first component involves creating a union between Troop 828 in Stillwater and a troop in Valparaiso, Chile. The second component will involve creating a presentation highlighting the environmental and ecological features of the Valparaiso region. The multimedia presentation would be exhibited to troops that are interested in earning the Citizenship in the World an Eagle required merit badge. This will allow for me to not only reach the scouts of troop 828, but as well to teach scouts in the community about international education and the Gilman scholarship by helping them gain an Eagle scout required merit badge.

I would be honored if troops and scouts in the district would be willing to participate in this awesome international leadership opportunity. I ask that if you have any interest in providing letters, patches, and other scouting memorabilia to be passed onto the South American troops to contact me. I am sure the troops would as well be willing to trade memorabilia for the patches and would be passed onto the troop that graciously donated troop insignia. I am leaving June 7th so if you do have any interest please respond promptly. Thank you
