Online Membership Registration – Effective August 1, 2017

Beginning this fall, the traditional paper registration method will not be the only way to join Scouting. The Boy Scouts of America will offer online registration to meet the demand for completing the entire registration process for youth members and adult leaders more efficiently.

This is a giant leap forward in allowing prospective members and leaders to register in a way that’s convenient for them, and it creates a more efficient and user-friendly registration experience for units, districts and councils.

In order to prepare for this change, the Indian Nations Council will be hosting a training for unit leadership to attend on either of the below dates.

*Please note, both sessions consist of the same training – you only need to attend ONE of the above training sessions.

Following the trainings, there will be position specific instructive emails sent to the unit leadership within the Indian Nations Council with further training details and updates. The emails will be sent once a week, beginning July 18th.

  • July 18 – Units Notified to Set-Up My.Scouting Account or Update
  • July 25 – Units Receive Online Training and Resources
  • July 31 – Council – Go Live
  • August 1 – Units – Go Live
  • August 8 – Units Follow-Up to Go Live
