Council Camporee

We had a great time at the Camporee. Great weather, great events, a low altitude WWII airport flyover and finished up with a fantastic fireworks show. Add a lot of great events during the day and you have a perfect Camporee.

Howdy from Aggieland,

How far does $35 go these days? It certainly won’t fill up your vehicle. The cost to attend the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets’ Aggie Eagle Program (AEP) this fall, September 19-20, 2008, is $35. Here is what $35 will get an attending Scout.

  1. A $2400 Corps Scholarship-it does not require military service.
  2. A complete introduction into the A&M admission process, with some tips thrown in for free.
  3. A review of possible scholarship and financial aid possibilities, including additional Corps Scholarships and ROTC Scholarships.
  4. A complete understanding of the Corps Leadership Development Program for those cadets who elect not to pursue a military commission.
  5. Insight into the day to day activities of a Cadet, including the academic aspects that the Corps offers to insure the success of Cadets as students.
  6. An opportunity to see many of the special units of the Corps, including but not limited to the Fightin’ Texas Aggie band, the Fish Drill Team, the Rudder Ranger Team, the Parson Mounted Cavalry, and the Marine Recon Company.
  7. Admission to a Banquet given in honor of the attending Scouts and their parents.
  8. A chance to accompany the Corps of Cadets to Midnight Yell Practice in Kyle Field.
  9. Detailed introductions by members of the Army, Air Force and Navy/Marine ROTC programs.
  10. The chance to test your skills against the Corps Obstacle course.
  11. An introduction to one of only two Leadership Skills Obstacle Courses offered to ROTC cadets in the USA.
  12. The chance to experience the pageantry of an Aggie football weekend, including “step-off” and March-In.
  13. A free ticket to the Aggie-Miami football game with the Corps and the chance to see and feel the Spirit of Aggieland, the 12th Man, Reveille, and everything that makes Aggieland the most unique place on Earth.
  14. Free meals while you are on campus and attending the AEP.
  15. A genuine Aggie Eagle t-shirt and ball cap.
  16. The unique opportunity to meet Eagle Scouts from all over the country and Aggies from all over the world.

The cost of the program is $35. The value is priceless.

Please see our website www.aggiecorps.org for more information. Click on Aggie Eagles to learn more about the AEP and to register.
