2015 Silver Beaver Award Nominations Due January 15

The 2015 Silver Beaver Award Nomination Forms must be received by 4:30 p.m. on January 15, 2016, at the Donald W. Reynolds Scout Resource Center. The Award is intended to acknowledge noteworthy service of exceptional character to youth by BSA-registered leaders within the territory under the jurisdiction of the local council. It is considered the highest award a Boy Scout Council can bestow upon a volunteer Scouter. Nominate someone today!

ONE DAY LEFT TO WIN $500!

There’s ONE DAY left to submit your community service hours! The council is offering a $500 Gift to the top serving Cub Scout Pack, Boy Scout Troop, Venturing Crew and Exploring Post. Hours must be submitted by the end of the year, December 31, 2015, to be considered.

Popcorn Sale Successes!

Congratulations to all of our Scouts for a successful 2015 Popcorn sale! The Council is so proud to have such great community support as well as outstanding Scouters representing the Council. We are proud to announce that over $35,000 worth of Popcorn was donated to Military Troops.

A special congratulations to the top selling unit and Scouts:
Eagle District Pack 44 – $32,840
Archer Kistler, Pack 888 – $6,050.00
Luke Macomber, Troop 935 – $6,289.38

2015 Silver Beaver Award Nomination Form Now Available

The Silver Beaver Award is presented by the National Council, Boy Scouts of America (BSA), through the Indian Nations Council to adult volunteer Scouters for their distinguished service to youth and their community. The Award is intended to acknowledge noteworthy service of exceptional character to youth by BSA-registered leaders within the territory under the jurisdiction of the local council. It is considered the highest award a Boy Scout Council can bestow upon a volunteer Scouter.
The 2015 Silver Beaver Award Recipients and Hans Helmerich 2015 Class Eagle Scouts will be honored at the March 26, 2016 Council Recognition Banquet.

Consider applying for funding through Tread Lightly!’s 25 for 25 program! The national nonprofit organization Tread Lightly! has launched an initiative funding 25 Restoration for Recreation projects to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Maximum funding possible is $2,000.

Holiday Ethan Giving Tree – DONATE TODAY!

The Ethan Giving Tree Program will run November 16-December 19 at the Tulsa Scout Shop. The program works on an anonymous donation basis, similar to a Salvation Army Angel Tree. Simply select a card of a Scout in need off the Ethan Tree and purchase the items listed, leave the items with a Scout Shop staff member and the Scout in need will receive your generous donation.
