Indian Nations Council is in process of developing
its strategic plan for the next 5-10 years. Meetings have
been held throughout the council area soliciting ideas and
are included on these pages:

Scouting for Adventure continues this
week!
It will air this week on Cox Channel 250, (153
on Dish Network) - the Outdoor Channel.
Wednesday - 7:30 AM & 5:30 PM

This weeks show: Out Island Adventure.
Scouting for Adventure is an original series
based on the Boy Scouts of America and their flagship magazine,
Boy’s Life. This high-adventure show targets young outdoorsmen,
teaching wilderness skills with an emphasis on safety and
team-building. Episodes feature exciting activities like rock
climbing, kayaking, scuba diving, ropes courses, backpacking,
horse riding, canoeing, and whitewater rafting; and cover
important outdoor Scouting topics, including safety tips,
gear reviews, merit badges, conservation, campfire cooking,
and knot tying. The show promotes awareness of the Boy Scouts
of America and its scouting values and activities.

30 Nov. and Channel 2 needs lots of units involved to continue
the ReGREENing Green Country effort.

together Tulsa’s Gang Task Force Unit and The Tulsa
County Sheriff’s Department and the Tulsa Area United
Way to announce the 2008 launch of our JOIN SCOUTING CAMPAIGN.

Over 6,000 new Scouts are expected to join during
this falls Campaign. With over 4 million members nationally,
the Boy Scouts of America is the largest GANG in the country.
Our neighborhoods and our communities need GOOD GANGS. Currently
the Indian Nations Council in Tulsa serves 28,000 youth members
who are actively participating in our local area Scout Programs.

Each Fall over 4,000 scouts & their families
“Try Scouting On For the Day!” at Camp Russell.
Boys and their families will experience many of the activities
that Scouts in packs and troops get to do during the year.
Beautiful Camp Russell located in Broken Arrow will be the
host camp for over 60 fun scouting activities for the whole
family. You can try fishing on the dock, learn archery safety
and skills, paddle one of the canoes, play games and races,
soar down a zip line, meet Sparky the Clown, shoot a BB Gun,
participate in Indian dances, “dig for Gold’,
try the obstacle course and much, much more……AND
ITS ALL FREE. Concessions will be available for those
wanting to have lunch or a snack. Don’t miss this once
a year family event.

Wood Badge Reunion
& Scholarship Dinner

This event is open to ALL Scouters who have attended a Wood
Badge course and spouse or guest.

The 2008 Catholic Committee on Scouting and Camp Fire sponsored
retreat will be on October 11 & 12. All youth of the Diocese
from 1st thru 12th grade and their families are encouraged
to attend this fun and faith filled retreat. Come spend a
weekend at Camp Fire USA’s Camp Waluhili on Fort Gibson
Lake. Activities include Olympic style games, arts and crafts,
songs, skits around a campfire, and Mass. Register early to
insure a spot. The cost for early bird registration by September
19, 2008 is $17/person or $68/family. After September 20,
the cost is $20/person or $80 per family. The fee includes
3 meals and the overnight stay.

Eagle Scout - Roll of Honor

Our first nationwide Eagle Scout search has less than a month
to go. We have had excellent results. However, there are sure
to be Eagle Scouts that we have not managed to locate. Please
