New bounce houses and a climbing wall!

Membership is a team effort and the Indian Nations Council is always looking for ways to help our units grow! As part of our strategic goal for "Full-Throtle Growth" in 2026 and beyond, the Council has purchased 3 bounce houses and a climbing wall that can be utilized in for recruiting events and other events where large numbers of youth will be participating. Think big!

-
School open house/carnivals/field days
-

-

These items will be highly visable in crowded spaces where your standard recruiting table might simply blend in. A bounce house or a portable climbing wall acts as a visual anchor - - - the youth will spot them instantly and families will orient to them.

These items will provide built-in engagement time. While the kids bounce or climb, the parents stay put and watch. Leaders will get uninterruped time to:

-
Explain the Scouting program
-
Share meeting times & costs
-
Collect contact information on the spot!
Parents see an organized, supervised activity - a big trust builder!

The three bounce houses and climbing wall can be loaned out based on request for large events that will help with recruiting. Requests will be submitted via our Black Pug reservation system which is currently under design. We will let everyone know the release date of this reservation system once we refine the process. Our hope is to be live by February 15th for the bounce houses and August 1st for the climbing tower (see training requirements below)

You must provide a vehicle that can safely transport the climbing wall or bounce house to/from the location. For the climbing wall, before use, you must attend a training that will cover the needs of the wall (hook-up, set-up, operations) as well as safe climbing requirements (helmet sizing, harness work, wall auto-belay system operation.) We are currently working on training dates with our Climbing Committee and will announce those soon! As with other climbing opportunities in the council, there will be no exceptions to the "trained" requirements to allow a unit to borrow the climbing wall for recruiting events.

If you are unsure if your event meets the requirements to borrow these items for your unit, please call us to confirm before you make a reservation. Under no circumstances will these items be used for private usage or for profit events outside of Scouting America recruiting events for the Indian Nations Council.

These items will be housed at Graves Scout Reservation and pick up must be coordinated with the Ranger. Returns are expected to be timely so that the next party will be able to pick up in time for their event. A Scout is courteous. Please note that reservations must be made more than 7 days in advance for scheduling purposes.

It is the responsibility of the unit for any damage beyond basic wear and tear for any borrowed equipment. Please report any issues that occur immediately to the ranger upon return. Not reporting issues will resort in future borrowing rights to be suspended.
